Originally from the Detroit area, Danylo (Dan) Terleckyj is an associate attorney at Levinson and Stefani. Prior to joining the firm, he spent seven years as a trial attorney dedicating his career to fighting for individuals and families who were injured as the result of negligent and wrongful acts of others. He focused his practice on car and truck accidents as well as cases involving childhood sexual abuse. He also co-authored the chapter on litigating childhood sexual abuse for The Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s publication on Causes of Action, an instructive manual for lawyers.
Education
Dan received his Juris Doctor in 2009 from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. As a law student, he interned for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Appeals Division, drafting responses to post-conviction criminal appeals. He also represented clients under Michigan’s student practice rule while working with Wayne State’s Free Legal Aid Clinic, providing legal representation to indigent clients in family law and child custody matters. He was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 2010.

Dan is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.
Personal
Dan is an active member of Chicago’s Ukrainian community, often hosting and performing the role of master of ceremonies at cultural and charitable events. In 2013 Ukraine’s Consul General in Chicago invited him to officiate a commemoration of the 22ndanniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
